Wei Wei at Brooklyn Museum – Worth a visit?

By July 22, 2014Flower Talk

Abrasive, raw materials displayed as refined important objects which are wrought with  punctuated meaning.  For me they emphasize people over material.
Spanning 20 years and including more than 40 contemporary works.. An understanding of how important Wei Wei’s work is, becomes more than clear.
He is an artist for humanity’s sake and there is within his show a community wakefulness not so easily explored.  This show is well worth the price of tickets. $15.00 pp.

From Brooklyn Museum:

Ai Weiwei is one of China’s most prolific and provocative contemporary artists. … Ai Weiwei: According to What?explores universal topics of culture, history, politics, and tradition, showcasing the artist’s remarkably interdisciplinary career as a photographer, sculptor, architect, and activist.
